thanks for answering,
by default we are using https://mms.orange.fr wich is the default APN for orange (orange is my mobile service provider)
you think, i need to put a new one ?
I dont know actually sometimes it helps to enter the exaxt same as new and delete the old maybe also contact orange and when SIM card is older than 2 years it might help to get a new one. And as it can cause strange troubles, when the SIM was used in an Iphone before
I get same troubles with my FP5 and with Orange provider my daugther (Samsung) and my wife (iPhone) there are no problem with same provider. Definitely it is FP5 troubles.
When I switch off or reboot it works for some MMS, but after 3 or 5 MMS the problem going back.
its a issue i hear often, and experienced similar issues myself as well on different phones and networks.
that the provider, sim and/or phone have issues working together properly.
it might be more often with the FP5 but i can’t confirm that. it happens to all phones and providers. my FP5 never rejected a sim or provider so far i remember, but ofcourse thats says nothing.
We will try to help you solving the problem with your FP5.
Dit you already read this article on the website of Fairphone?
omg
I missed this thread. I had the exact same problem with my FP5 at Orange.
After some hours of trial of error and research on random forums I finally found settings for an APN which works in all conditions, sending/receiving mms and internet data
Here they are:
Name: orange-ok (or whatever you want I guess)
APN: orange.fr
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: orange
Password: orange
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://mms.orange.fr/
MMS proxy: 192.168.10.200
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 208
MNC: 01
Authentication type: PAP or CHAP
APN type: default, supl, mms, hipri, fota, cbs, xcap [note: this is probably a bit many, but I put them all - anyone recommends differently?]
APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
Bearer: Unspecified
MVNO type: None
MVNO value: Not set
Tell me if that works for you, for me mostly any variation leads to non-functionning mms emission.
can you post the explanation even if very technically what orange seport answered about this problem?
i understood that the APN send by Orange is not always working for the FP5, a different APN setting is posted here. by @Ganth , thank you for your post.
wat is the drawback of the different APN? seeing the Changes i think it will be a different security protocol, but that’s my guess.
can you or orange explain wat is the issue is on the side of Fairphone?
just asking because im curious, and my help different users as well to discuss this here.
please contact Fairphone seport and inform them about ther part in this issue, i understood you already did.
