Cannot send images via text

Hi all, this is my first post here so apologies if I’ve done something incorrectly.

I purchased my first Fairphone a little over six months ago and have been satisfied with it, my only complaint is that I am unable to send images via MMS, except through the Google Messages* app (which I would prefer not to use, for obvious reasons).
I have tried the built-in SMS app, Fossify Messages, and am currently using QUIK. No matter which app, sent images immediately fail to send. As far as I know I retrieve images sent to me without issue.
I have confirmed my APN settings are correct, the only other thing I can think of is that I had an iPhone prior to 2023, but my number has not been associated with an Apple account since (I just confirmed this) and my last phone was an Android that I did not have this issue with. The SIM card I am using has never been in an iPhone.
My phone carrier is Mint Mobile and I’m located in the USA, if that is at all relevant.

Thank you in advance for any help, I’ve been struggling with this since getting the phone and it’s finally annoyed me enough to bring my problem here  I’d prefer not to factory reset if possible, but am willing to try as a last resort.

*A note on Google Messages- for some reason this app sends images just fine, and I cannot figure out why. I had been using it begrudgingly until it recently tried forcing me to sign into an account.

Hi and welcome to the community forum.

I can’t really help but remember there have been people with trouble sending and/or receiving MMS in the past quite often. Not sure if those topics contain a solution but they might be a start to dig for information.

I think the user can send MMS with Google messages app but cannot with other apps of their choice.

I also checked the fossify messages app and am not able to send GIFs with it, so it might be a similar thing. I just assumed it is the app limitation and didn’t look any further.

The other posts seem to be about a general inability to send MMS messages (due to internet or APN settings issues).

Might it be possible that using Google Messages you’re actually not sending MMS (which does not seem to work in your case for unkown reason) but RCS (which is - afaik - only possible with Google Messages and so might explain why all other apps fail)?
