Camera / Lens not opening deeplinks from QR codes

just installed my new Fairphone. My second one after I had a Fairphone 1.

Trying to activate my banking apps on the fairphone by scanning a QR code on my old phone in the app. Unfortunately it only copies the link from the qr code but doesn’t open the actual app.

Tried with a 3rd party QR scanner ( Binary Eye) as well, same result. Checked app deeplink settings, these are set to open with default apps. Camera settings also has QR code enabled.

am I missing a setting somewhere?

  • When you go to
    Settings > Apps > Default apps > Opening links > [your banking app]
    is the parameter “Open supported links” enabled?

  • In the same screen, under “Links to open in this app”, look at the list of verified links and make sure the one that you’re trying to open is in the list.

If it’s not, try updating the app.

You may also need to open the banking app (on the FP6) and scan from there as a part of setting up.
