I remarked that the brightness of the clock, when Always On Display is active, is very high.
I tried with automatic and manual brightness, and in all cases, AOD starts with the normal brightness, and switch to full (or at least high) brightness after one second.
Is there a setting to have adaptive brightness with AOD?
No at the moment there is no way to influence this.
Unfortunately the brightness of the AOD was further increased with the latest OS version.
Automatic brightness is not working and the clock position is also not changing over time to protect the display.
Thank you for confirming this for me. I wasn’t sure if it was suddenly BRIGHT or if I was imagining things.
I’ll see if I can report this as a bug.
I reported it as issue 1431482. They got back to me asking if I am on latest and greatest firmware (I am) and if that fixed it (it did not).
For sure not because its intended and no bug and to “fix” this they have to find a way to make this adaptive. So just the, just sent the standard answer for now.
I can’t imagine that it is intended for the AOD to be like a lighthouse illuminating an entire room at night.
But hey… I’m not a UX designer. #shrug
The thing is: in the past it was too dark in bright light. People complaint. They made it brighter and now people complain its too bright in dark. And to make this adaptive seem to be more complicated.
