After the update from android 14 to 15, my Bluetooth earbuds have become much louder. Before the update I could have the noise level at 1 to 3 whereas now even the first level seems to be very loud. Is this a Fairphone issue or this something wrong with the whole version of android 15?
I also have the same issue. With my earbuds, the lowest volume is already quite loud. But I haven’t noticed a difference for my headphones.
There are usually/sometimes two separate volume controls when using BT sets, one via the phone, the second via the device.
Perhaps they have reset themselves after the update?
Can’t really say how Android 14 to 15 affected this, but I recently switched from an old Pocophone F1 with a custom rom (crdroid) running Android 15 already to a brand new Fairphone 6 and I noticed worse volume controls on the Fairphone as well:
Overall, only every 2nd increase/decrease actually causes a change in audio volume via bluetooth. This makes it annoying to properly dial in, as the steps become twice as large.
Very annoying…
I tried disabling “Bluetooth absolute volume” in developer options, but my specific earbuds directly change the phone’s volume (ie. when I press volume up on the earbud, Android displays the volume meter). But it was a good suggestion.
For now as a workaround, I’m using Wavelet to lower the volume.
It seems that this old problem got worse with Android 15, see here:
