Everytime I get in the car, I have to enable bluetooth-tethering again.
It gets disabled when I turn on airplane mode.
Is there a way to enable it permanently for the car?
I would expect tethering to be enabled again, when I re-enable bluetooth.
Same problem here. When the phone comes out of airplane mode or after a phone restart, the Bluetooth tethering setting is disabled, although I haven’t changed it.
Can I change the default setting for Bluetooth tethering to “active”? Is there a setting such that the phone remembers this setting the way it remembers other settings?
I sent a bug report to the support on February 11th and haven’t got an answer yet.
It’s a feature, not a bug
So, the support claims this would be intentional, because otherwise people would forget to disable tethering, and that would use too much battery
Fairphone support replied to my issue report on this. They said that tethering is one of the things that get reset to the default “off” when restarting the phone or the connection, for security reasons. It’s by design. And there isn’t a direct built-in setting in Android 14 on the Fairphone 5 to make the phone “remember” the Bluetooth tethering setting as “on” by default after these events, or to automatically re-enable it.
