Battery problem

Hello,
My phone automatically goes into power saving mode even though there’s still a lot of battery left (sometimes more than 75%).
Furthermore, the battery has been draining faster over the past few weeks.
Do you have any idea what the problem is?
The battery is two and a half years old.
Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the community forum

It’s possible that the battery needs replacing. That will depend partly on how busy a life it’s led.
The charge level as a percentage is misleading, since “100%” is its present full capacity but not the full capacity it had when it was new. That would explain the impression of draining faster.

If you leave it charging for long periods (such as overnight), fairly often charge it to 100%, or discharge it to less than 15%, or have to charge it more than once a day, then it’s likely getting tired. Also check if it’s swollen at all. For that, turn off the phone, remove the battery and place it flat on a smooth flat horizontal surface such as a cold kitchen ceramic hob, and then try to get the battery to spin. If it makes a full turn or more then it’s started to swell and needs to be replaced as soon as you can.

FP4 batteries are currently out of stock in the online shop, but are expected back in any day now, so a good time to buy. If you bought your phone in a store then they may have some in stock.

…having the same issue.
On the website it says End of June
Let’s wait and hope those batteries will be available soon then… :folded_hands:

I’ve bought a FP4 battery last year from Gombino and I still see that they have it in stock, for around 40 euros including delivery (they ship across the EU) Fairphone 4 Battery - Gomibo.de

Might help out the couple of questions I’ve seen while lurking the forum.
