I am VERY HAPPY with my FP5 which I bought 1 year ago. BUT: since the last update it seems that the battery lasts only for one day.
I use usually the battery protection (80%) and the battery saver at 50%. I have only listen to radio and receive some messages . I think, I haven’t changed my user habits very much compared to the beginning of the year. I have the feeling it started just with the updage. I use the FP charger and cable since a few months ago, too. Does not help. Any advice. I turned almost all apps in the bakground and it still lasts for a little more than 1 day. Any idea, advice of somebody? I have Android Version 14 . FP 5

How much does it drain over night, may I ask?
This can happen after an update. Try to run it in safe mode and see if its the same

Hi, Thanks for replying! I think it looses around 10 -20 % . But I need to check carefully the next days. Will let you know.
Use accubattery while charging to evaluate the battery degradation
It happened the same to me in the last two updates. Mobile temperature increased a lot.
Disabling “Hey Google” helper is a solution for me.

I can only confirm that the runtime has deteriorated massively after Android 14 and subsequent updates. My FP5 is only 14 months old, and the runtime has decreased from about 2 days to only one day (without playing games or videos) and no changes in usage.
The battery helth display in the akku settings disappeared but the “Device Info HW” app showes still more than 4000mAh capacity.

My battery also drains a lot faster since recent updates. For example I used to lose between 3-6% overnight, now it’s over 10%. No apps running in the background as far as I’m aware. I have installed an app or two that I didn’t have before, but these don’t seem to cause battery drain, according to the Battery usage screen in Settings.
My FP5 is 14months old and don’t have any problem with battery, still keep almost 2 days with 5-7 ScrrenOnTime… discharge with screen off is about 0.5%/hour…
As lancher i use Nova, for email Spark, for web “OH Web” and Vivaldi, for music PowerAMP…
In backgroud always running: AFWall+ and AccuBattery
Also loged in Signal, Skype, Telegram (but this is not show in Notification panel as Running in backgroud, anyway msg received without opening apps)
I’m noticing the same thing since the last update it seems. My phone is a few month old and the battery was lasting about 24 hours given my usage but since a week or two it only lasts about half that much with the same usage
Why ain’t I surprised? At least I’m not the only one not lasting a day. I’ve already discussed this in Fairphone 5 battery life so nothing else has to be said here but provide a link. Hope this helps.

Yes i check now also with AccuBattery. I charge only up to 90% in the morning and I am not watching movies etc. Just writing short messages, listen about 1hour to radio or music and the battery is almost empty (ca.10%) in the evening . And this happens now after the update a few weeks ago…
