🇫🇷 🇬🇧 Appels entrants marqués comme privé - Incoming calls marked as private

Hello, all incoming calls are marked as private, even if they come from my contacts. otherwise everything works fine. my supplier is Bouygues. I have seen the various discussions on this subject with FP3. I tried the different manipulations, in particular the one that consists of going back to 3G, none of them work…

Hi @stef2406

Welcome to the Fairphone Community form.

I’m sorry to hear you experience problems when resaving calls.

Normally your provider sends the number of the caller short after it notified your phone about a new incoming call. (it starts to ring).
that number will be showen on your display, if the number is saved your phone wil automatically change the number to that contacts name.

it’s possible that the caller turned of this option, then you see private.
and is possible that the caller programmed a name, so no number is showen (normally company’s). some providers allow that and some don’t.

1 please check if the caller dit turn off its number indication.
2 ask your provider if their system is working properly. maybe a different sim card to test?
3 if tis staps didn’t solved the issue, it’s possible your phone do have a bug/problem. please let us know. we will try to help you solving this problem.

Thank you for your answer, all my callers had the indication of the number display activated… My supplier only responds via a bot and is not efficient… Otherwise, I ordered a new SIM card, I’m waiting for it and I’ll write the result here when I’ve received it and replaced it

And can you make outgoing calls to anyone?

yes absolutly, and my number is not showed as private

Then you should contact your mobile provider as the clip for incoming calls does not work. Last question: are all callers from the same provider? ANd did you turn your FP off for at least 3 minutes and then rebooted it again?

PS: I work for an international mobile provider since 2007  maybe handy

I contacted my provider but it was a bot that told me that it couldn’t do anything (my plan doesn’t allow you to have someone answer), so I asked for a call back and I’m still waiting. otherwise my callers have different providers. and I turned off my smartphone for 3 minutes and then turned it back on, it doesn’t change anything …

does not really sound like a good surves from your profider…
i hope you will have more success in your next attempt.

something you can do for testing is swapping simcard with a friend or family and call each other.

ant if possible a third phone to call and receive calls to both phones.

to see if you can reproduce the issue.

does the problem say with the phone or simcard, or maybe both phones work normal after swapping?

don’t forget to swap the card back😉
And test again with the cards in the right phone.

please let us know wat happened during the test, even if you already found out after this test where the problem is coming from.

I found out where the problem came from. At initialization after installing the SIM card, the phone offered me to merge my contacts which were duplicate, or even triple, which I did. Most of the numbers were in the French local format 06xxxxxx and remained so thereafter. By chance a friend called me with a number that had not been merged and was in the international format +336xxxxxx (for France), and his number was displayed correctly. It is therefore the phone application that no longer recognizes the numbers stored in local format in the contacts.
thanks for your message and your help
