Have you really tried this:
On your Fairphone, go to Settings → System → Developer options.
Under Drawing, tap Window animation scale and set back to 1x.
Under Drawing, tap Transition animation scale and set back to 1x.
Under Drawing, tap Animator duration scale and set back to 1x.
