Then, an hour ago, the phone completely froze while using the Facebook app. Screen stayed on, buttons did nothing. I was forced to reset the phone by long pressing on power for 10 secs.

This could also be (but doesn’t have to be) related to:

Since its last update, the Facebook app causes severe problems like phone freezes, crashes, battery drain, problems with instagram etc. (see here for example) If you lately experience issues like this, just uninstall the app. Probably your problems are solved.

(Not sure what the status is now)
