Exact same problem for me: Brand new Fairbuds. The app detected correctly the buds, then managed to update their firmware.
Afterwards, the app do not show the battery status anymore (but the Bluetooth parameter of the phone does it…).
And more: the EQ. seem to have NO effect.
The app is VERY disappointing.
Edit: I have red https://forum.fairphone.com/t/app-does-not-see-battery-firmware-status-of-fairbuds-android/107235/15 and my location IS activated.
