My phone died while i was outside, once i came back home and plugged it it won’t charge properly, when it is shut off sometimes it shows a red battery image with a flashing charging plug inside, it keeps botting by itself and when it does it looks like it’s working but as soon as I unlock it it dies. plus everything when I remove the garge the phone keeps saying it’s charging. I’ve tried removing the battery and when i put it back in it doesn’t looks firmly blocked in place (if I flip the phone sometimes the batter falls out of the dock).
help me please
edit: i’ve changed the charger and it looks like it’s working now, but I’m not sure it was really the charger because it always worked really well, i will try again with it later when the phone is going to be more charged, for now does anyone have any tips about the batter falling out thing or why it happens/should I worry?
new update: i was using it while charged but my battery dropped anyway, using a more powerful cable it works (while overheating the phone tho) but it seems overkill as the “normal ones” always worked (note that I’ve never noticed this behaviour before)
new update: i guessed the problem could’ve been to phone bent a little while in my jean’s pocket today (saw others thread say the same) i tried forcing it a little bit the other way and the battery doesn’t seem to fall off anymore, soooo i guess it’s good?
I’m sorry to flood this with updates but yeah I have more: it looked like it was fixed, I left my old charger in for a while and all of a sudden it started charging, but I noticed the phone still lost battery percentage.
I’m almost sure this is NOT a charger’s problem because the phone detects that it’s charging at first and then stops, my charger has a led telling me current it’s flowing and similar charges also act strangely.
Sooo idk, I could guess it’s a voltage thing and the phone can’t seem to adapt well, but I don’t know what to do.
Hello
I would suggest contacting the support.
I haven’t seen any threads about FP5 being bent and it is a bit worrying to hear about the battery falling out, does the back cover fall out too?
It’s not like it was heavily bent,it wasn’t even really noticeable but I guessed that could’ve been the case as I saw others say similar things on this community
Hello, thank you, while the phone says it is charging the app actually shows negative wattage whit my normal chargers while showing the voltage tho and shoes maximum wattage (21/23W) whit my powerful “overkill” charger.
Edit: even with the other charger at a point it jumped to negative wattage
Mine also falls out (might need a small “knock”) when the back cover is removed and you hold it with the battery face down. Tested after reading here. Doubt its because of bending as I almost never have it in my jeans back pocket.
The cable doesn’t matter as I have seen, what it matters is the charger head, I have tried to that work both of witch are for much more demanding devices (PC and ipad) and output a very high wattage (and I assume my phone picks only part of it), while though oke of them as a very high voltage and I don’t want to risk ruinding furthermore my battery but it seems like I have no choice.
I’ve already contacted support but I would not like sending my device for repair/revisioning, It would be better if they just sent me another battery or something like that. Do you think that is a reasonable event or they are 100% going to ask for the device?
Thank you, I will do so and hope for a response, I filled the form saying that it charged slowly because it is neither never charging nor always charging so I guess that’s the best option as if I say “it charges with some chargers and not with others it just assumes my charger is broker which is not”.
