What do you think of Fairphone's approach to open source on the FP2?

I just read https://www.fairphone.com/2015/09/23/opening-up-fairphone-to-the-community-open-source-fairphone-2/ and i have to say that sounds great! I think this strategy, combined with releasing a tested Android 5.1 with Play Store is a very good balance between the needs of Fairphone user groups.
