It seems like there just was an update as you said this.
One thing, regular LineageOS updates more frequently, or at least gets more builds more frequently, because there’s frequent changes. ‘LineageOS for microG’ gets updated basically every month IIRC or every 15 days. If you want the flexibility of having more updates, then you can actually just use regular LineageOS. LineageOS (21, anyway) now supports signature spoofing for microG, only microG and is pretty secure. So you can use microG pretty well on it. It is unprivileged, unlike LineageOS for microG, and runs as a user app. It will lack some privileged permissions that help it work, but mostly it is fine.
In any way, I don’t recommend updating too frequently. LineageOS uses full images for updates, and are very frequent. I don’t think that’s great for your flash memory. I’d stick to updating if you have issues and on security updates, so some days after day 5 of the month when ASB launches. You can check changes for the builds in the LineageOS website.
You will also lose the privileged extension for F-Droid as LineageOS doesn’t ship that. This is mostly fine, Android 14 allows for unattended app updates for most things, you’ll just get the install prompt.

To be honest, so far I haven’t taken time to understand all details; for part of my activities ‘it works’ is just fine, esp. from a trusted environment.
Wrt the update: indeed, I was just a little bit too inpatient 
As LOS for migroG is always depends on LOS a “delayed” provision might have reasons and especially just recently there was an issue causing builds to be withdrawn
Also note all FPs are maintained by different developer and are at a different state so you cant conclude from one device to the other.
