I have a brand new FairPhone 5 that I bought last week and I keep having WiFi issues.
My phone does connect to the router without any issues but then flickers between ‘good connection’ and ‘no internet connection’ about once every second. As a result, my browser is unable to load any pages and the apps are unable to download any data.
This issues occurs only when I connect to the router directly (Vodafone Station). When I route the traffic via my laptop and connect to the laptop’s hotspot, I do not have any issues.
What I have tried so far: I forgot the conncetion on my phone, I reset the WiFi connctions on the phone, I did a factory reset and I removed the SIM. I tried both the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz channel. Nothing solved the issue.
Next, I did a full reset of the router. The router reset did solve the issue for about 36 hours but now the connection issue is back.
I’ve already contacted the FairPhone support but I would be extremely happy if any of you could help me.
@llluuuzzziii Are you sure about that? Because many online-services still rely on IPv4 and those will break without the IPv4 tunnel.
The only thing that comes to my mind is that it could be DNS related. So i suggest trying another DNS-server (this can be set in the wifi-settings of your saved connection), like 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google). It is not very likely that this will work imo but it’s worth a shot.
Hello, I have the same kind of problem. My FP5 was fine for months. 15 days ago, wifi connection disappeared suddenly on FP5 (working fine on my PC).
The only solution I found was restarting the FP5.
The wifi connection comes back.
I did it 4 times during last 2 weeks.
Any other solution?
Best regards.
