Why are these other phones too cheap?

The only problem the Universe has is my problem in that I am empathic and not happy with the pain my consumer orientation creates. Buying the Fairphone is an acknowledgement of my empathy, not a cure or part thereof.

I believe you. But it can also be an identity, a self-righteous one. In other words “I have to be good, being good is good, so I will only identify with that which will support my identity of being a do-gooder”.

I think a topic split may be in order here, the discussion seems to have veered off a bit (toward what I’m sure I don’t know).

Yes my view is there is no good, nor any bad just what people want and can get, and if they can get cheap phone they will if they consider themselves poor.

Other phones and most consumer products are made by poor people who will go down mines and work all hours in a factory for peanuts.
