When I toggle Ambient Display to "Always On" in the System UI Tuner, my screen stays off when I turn it on

This isn’t a major issue, because I don’t rely on Ambient Display all that much, but I thought it might be useful to know that it happens.

Some searching gave results relating to Digital Wellbeing, specifically the bedtime mode, but since I don’t use it, and all the settings are the way they ought to be according the results, I don’t really know where else to look.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi BramKaandorp and welcome to the community and the forum :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t think I’ve seen any other reports of this yet, though since the FP4 is still so new, I guess people are still experimenting with the possibilities!

On face value this sounds to me like a software bug. Which version of the OS are you running? Anyway, it’s certainly useful to know, thanks for posting. I think you should also report this to Support.

I can’t find an Ambient Display option, where did you activate it?

App System UI Tuner
I’m flying by the seat of my pants here never used it.
Come to think of it no point bothering support with this for the moment.

That’s exactly it. I didn’t think it was quite support worthy when I used an unusual method.

And to give some more information, I have the latest update, and have not rooted the phone.

For the time being, disable this option @BramKaandorp - it’s a software fault (and it’s logged)

Thanks for the info Chris. Concluded.

Hey @BramKaandorp so glad you got a FP - but don’t forget to update your profile (still says you don’t have one yet!) as we sometimes refer to this info when analysing problems.

No problem. I disabled it as soon as I found the issue.
