it seems like when I play Whatsapp Voice Messages with my Fairphone 5 and leave the App (don’t close it), the playback does not stop immediately and instead after 5 to 10 seconds. I am not sure whether that is how it is supposed to be, however other phones, notably the Pixel, seem to be experiencing this aswell, see: https://www.reddit.com/r/whatsapp/comments/1cq2b42/android_voice_notes_stop_playing_in_background/ (Reddit: Andoird Voice Notes Stop Playing in Background).
Is there anything one can do about that, is the problem on the Android or WhatsApp side then?
Unfortunately the issue has since returned, even with unrestricted battery mode for WhatsApp. As a side note, I am seing this behaviour using battery saver mode, however, with around 60% of battery remaining.
What is curious however, when I tried this last time and the playback stopped when in another app, I just turned off the screen and let my phone rest and doing so after about 5 minutes, the voice message just resumed playback. Don’t know what to make of that but maybe that helps
