I just read an article on spiegel.de (paywall) about what one needs to use 5G+, aka Voice over New Radio (VoNR). VoNR seems to be an optional feature a phone can provide in addition to 5G that routes phone calls to LTE.
They mention that Vodafone Germany says the following phones support VoNR:
iPhone 13 bis 16, das Samsung Galaxy S21 bis S24, das Google Pixel 7 bis 9 und das Xiaomi Mi 11 5G
The Fairphone 5 page does not mention it.

I wasn’t aware that spiegel.de had the gifting feature, I only knew it from heise.de. So here’s another 10 views:
Check the developer settings there you can probably enable, however of it works…for me its gryed out but enables although I dont even have 5G. Network Telefonica.
To check if it works it might help to call this number

Thanks for the tip. I don’t have 5G either, so I can’t test it. Maybe somebody with 5G+ access can do that?
