Anyone knows if there will be updates and if the build sources are available?
Yeah, I would also like to know if there will soon be newer builds that would eliminate the downgrade step required at the moment for fixing the camera and other bugs.
I have been running the FP2-sailfishos-2.0.0.10-alpha1-fastboot ontop of the v1.1.7 Android for a week or so and overall it looks and behaves promisingly well! 
The issues that I have detected are some lock-ups where the UI becomes non-responsive and the only way to solve it is to reboot by pressing long the power button. Usually the lock-ups occur after calls.
The camera’s are mostly working although sometimes the rear camera won’t turn on (just black screen with the camera GUI elements). Sometimes making a call or some other activity suddenly unlocks the rear camera and it works again for a while…
Bluetooth handsfree seems to connect but the audio doesn’t work.
Can’t wait to test a more recent build or the SailfishOS becoming an official choice on FP2! 
Is there a guide somewhere for getting the open source Alien Dalvik replacement up and running?

Bluetooth audio and media control is working.
Hadn’t tested bluetooth calls so far.
The light sensor is weird sometimes it resets: synaptics_rmi4_sensor_report: spontaneous reset detected
but its maybe related to the android ver and solfed in a newer android release.
The battery live time could be better.
To my knowledge the development of sailfish progresses, and hopefully soon there will be an official release available.
There should be a newer version in internal testing at the moment, let’s hope it’ll soon become available for public testing

I wrote a twittered to fp and they said they currently focusing fp-os and so not really working on sfos for fp2.
So its mostly a community thing.

Not sure if I misunderstood.
It is not the FP team that is developing SF. So if you want to get news on the SF development you might get more info from the SF/jolla community.
Jolla is apparently proofing if the FP2 port should become an official port, and how much a software licence would cost for the users.

Today I had a quick go at checking whether the Fairphone 2 running Sailfish OS worked without the modules plugged in: I removed the camera module, the loudspeaker+mic+USB module and the frontfacing camera+earpiece module, and Sailfish OS booted nicely and I could browse the web over WiFi just fine. I didn’t do any further testing but I was pleasantly surprised!

I am expecting the jolla phone used+cheap next week. Although I even have 2 other smartphone - now I outed s.th. very suspicious about economic use of smartphones - I admit I am still too cowardness for replacing FPOS. But I have the excuse that I cannot make up my mind ? FPOOS or SFOS ? So, when my jolla works well I tend to FPOOS on my FP2.
How can I build this myself? I just cannot wait…

Installed the community version and was impressed, a smooth experience. So much better speed than original Jolla. And the camera is much better than Jolla 1 as well.
I ran the community version for a month, despite some nasty bugs:
the phone freezes during or after a call (not always, but often, requiring a reboot, not practical for a company phone), some visual effects lacking (transparancy of app drawer was missing). After installing a new sim, mobile internet was gone. That’s why I reinstalled android. Not for long, I hope, I really want my sailfish back. Glad to have my Jolla around

New release of Sailfish OS for Fairphone 2 is going to be available soon. The App drawer is not supposed to be transparent, at least on my Jolla phone it’s the same as on Fairphone 2. The phone app freeze bug is not yet fixed even in the upcoming release but hopefully in the release after that. The randomly missing mobile internet toggle and settings is a known bug in the alpha1 release, I haven’t noticed that occurring anymore in the upcoming alpha2 release.

do we have any news from jolla, whether they gonna release official OS for fairphone? really tired of android but i do need couple of android apps for work =( starting to think if it was a mistake to buy fairphone, althoug the phone itself is wonderful

I don’t have knowledge of what Jolla and Fairphone are discussing. There has been work done to get community support of Android apps to Sailfish on Fairphone 2 and other ported devices using sfdroid, last new I heard is that they got it working on a android 5.0 (cm-12.1) based port for the first time just a couple of days ago, previously it was working only on some cm-11.0 based ports. We’ll see how that develops.

And you’re right, the app drawer was transparant on Sailfish 1.
The phone app freeze is annoying although sometimes I’ve been able to get around it by pressing the power button to lock the screen and then unlocking. Works sometimes but not always.
Also, randomly the screen might freeze in any situation -getting to the lock screen as above and if that’s also non-responsive then sometimes it helps to make the stretch or zoom-in gesture to get the response back without rebooting.
