Off the top of my head: is there a thermometer that measures the ambient or water temperature and can be connected to the Fairphone via USB-C or an app? I would love to know how cool my tea water is at the moment. 50° would be ideal for the honey supply : )
Translation of one of the comments on the A-site:
Those who are not bothered by the fact that the thermometer’s Android software requires access authorization for SMS, operating system, microphone and more before measuring the temperature may be happy.
For those who only want to measure the temperature, products from China are not recommended.
what problem does using a thermometer that plugs into a phone solve over a, well, any regular thermometer?
Then block internet access to the app before using it?.. I wouldn’t buy anything like that but it is a possible workaround
I guess he already has USB-gadgets for doing the
and by adding a thermometer he could automate that the honey would be added just at the right time during the cool down process - or something like that…
that’s only possible to reliably do on a custom ROM, the default one doesn’t have an option to do that.
There are Apps for this like netguard
I know, but third party apps can be killed while running in the background, I’ve had it happen with a VPN app once or twice over the years - hence “reliably”.
you can bind it so if it disconnects then the internet connection drops instead of leaking out data.
I can see your side too, better just not needing to do this in the first place by buying a better product.
