USA data sim can't connect to internet

Hi,
I am in the US and bought a AT&T prepaied data sim but can’t establish an internet connection. Anybody got an idea why that is and how I can fix that?

If you have two SIMs in the phone you have to switch the AT&T card to primary SIM card. If you don’t, the SIM slot will only receive 2g. As far as I know there is no 2g network anymore at AT&T, for that reason no data connection. But I’m just guessing…

Set it to preferred network mode 4G/3G/2G independent in which sim slot. Any second sim card will then automatically be limited/degraded to 2G only.
