Unreliable wifi and bluetooth

Hi everyone,

I recently bought the Fairphone 6 to replace my FP4, hoping for better bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately, I’m still running into the same issues as before.

With my Jabra headset (which I use frequently for work), I often experience Bluetooth connection drops. On my very first day with the FP6, all four calls I made using the headset disconnected halfway through, even though the phone was within a meter of the headset. I had similar problems with my FP4, and the only thing that sometimes helped was rebooting the phone before connecting.

Now, I’m also experiencing Wi-Fi issues. While transferring my WhatsApp data from my FP4 to the FP6, I repeatedly received error messages saying the phone wasn’t connected to Wi-Fi—even though I was less than two meters from the router and clearly connected. I also sometimes play Brawlstars to keep up with my kids, but on every Wi-Fi network I’ve tried, I can’t play the game due to connectivity problems. When I tested with my FP4 on the same networks (same SSID), I had no issues at all.

In summary: both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity seem buggy on my FP6. So far, I’ve tried:

  • Resetting network settings
  • Removing and re-adding devices and Wi-Fi networks
  • Testing with different Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth devices

Has anyone experienced similar issues or found any solutions? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried to use another Wi-Fi channel (you can select it in your router)? I’ve heard that sometimes the frequencies of Bluetooth and WiFi can interfere.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunetly the bluetooth issues occur when I am not on wifi (in the car travelling) and I just tried to play Brawlstars with Bluetooth off (to test the other way round) but the wifi issues also persist…
