The only reseller listed on the Fairphone website that actually sells the 6 appears to be Yourcoop, and having attempted to purchase through their website I am concerned that the whole process is very unprofessional. No estimated delivery dates, just says someone will be in touch to “progress your order” within 3-5 working days, they haven’t taken the payment yet, when I’ve contacted to ask them to reactivate my membership (as I had one with them a few years back) they said I don’t have one to reactivate (despite the website not letting me create a new one because it says I already have one that needs reactivating).
And now I have received an email that includes code in the title and just contains a bunch of picture attachments and a QR code, no text or information about what the code is for. When I’ve looked them up on feefo there are people on there saying their sims wouldn’t even activate, and customer service is terrible so I am regretting purchasing from them and I don’t want to put a new order in through the Fairphone website in case they suddenly send the phone out and won’t let me cancel.
I bought the FP4 from EE a few years ago, but they’ve stopped supplying the brand unfortunately. However my sister bought directly from Fairphone last year without issue. It’s quite expensive for postage - £11 and takes a week to get to you - but it came without any issues, and is delivered via UPS. You have the legal right to return any product you buy online, for any reason, for about 16 days in the UK, so if you order from Fairphone directly, and the other one is suddenly dispatched, you could just return it immediately. Don’t open it, as this strengthens your claim for your full refund as they can’t say it’s been opened or claim it was damaged or anything if it’s literally still in the wrapper! Just my experience, in case you do decide to order directly.
I bought direct and wish I hadn’t as they’ve messed up the customs documentation and now it’s stuck in limbo until they can provide UPS with the information. I’ve supplied my sales invoice as well and UPS said I’ll probably get a phone call or email tomorrow. Would have turned up on saturday if they’d done it right.
AO.com has the FP6 listed in the UK. Cheaper than the direct price as well. £11 cheaper.
