Trickle charging from solar - can it damage the battery

Hi

I’m looking into getting a portable solar charger - I came across a cheap foldable amorphous camping charger.

Will this work with the FP2 and if so is there any chance it can damage the battery to have a slow charge going into it?

Hi,

I can’t answer in a technical way, but I can tell you that I have been using one for almost two years and that it did not damage ma battery (at least not as I can see). Other Fairphone users also regularly use a solar charger. Check these pages:

Waka waka external charger for fp2

Hello, does anyone know if the waka waka power 5, 10 or + can charge a completely drained battery? Also, has anyone compared whether the power 5, 10 or + versions of external charger are best for the fairphone 2??

Damage should be prevented by the charge controller in the phone, so as long as the device provides 5V it should be safe to use.
