I am a regular user of the “Tap to wake” feature, love double tapping my screen to quickly peek, if something came up. Sadly I noticed, that THE Fairphone doesn’t come with the “Tap to wake” sibling feature, “Tap to sleep”, which by double tapping the woken lock screen, it goes black again.
A feature, while small, and unsubstantial to some, I would really appreciate, to quickly turn off the screen again, not having to grab the phone to reach the lock button or wait all those seconds to go black again on its own.
I hope this is the right place to suggest this.
All the best,

I would suggest sending Fairphone an email about that, sometimes they read this forum, but this isn’t guaranteed, it’s mainly a forum for users. So it would be good to make sure Fairphone sees this suggestion.
I’m also used to double-tapping the top status bar to sleep when the device is awake (not only on the lockscreen), it’d be great to have it on the FP6 as well!
(this cannot be added via an app afaik)
I’m using /e/OS for my FP6 and actually have that feature! I think that feature should be available on the standard Google OS as well. For me you can find it under Settings → Display → Tap to Sleep (single last setting at the bottom)
