Status bar - change of icons

One icon in the status bar (I suppose indicating flow of data) in the top right corner of the screen appears and disappears. It’s quite annoying. Does anyone, please, have an idea what to do about it? I couldn’t find out online or in settings what to do.

Currently there seems to be no way to change that behaviour in the stock Fairphone OS.
GSI Custom ROMs which might behave differently are a current option for tech-savvy enthusiasts.

Improving the software of FP3

This thread should contain mainly possible improvements that could be come with software updates to the phone. There is also a wish list where the fancy stuff could find space. This is a wiki, so feel free to add your points here in one of the two categories. For clarity reasons please add only key points, please. Discussion: Improving the software of FP3

WiFi and Network Icons in the status bar should have a fixed width - at the moment neighbouring icons jump left and right if network traffic occurs and is accordingly indicated by the up/down arrows. It is really interesting to see what different people find to be annoying. I guess the status bar symbols are pretty much the lowest common denominator - and frankly, I personally never had a problem with them.
