Software Update: FP6.QREL.15.122.0

I think when the update is not too big you could try with mobile data instead of Wifi?

Yeah I did try both ways. It’s a small one, maybe I’ll try a manual download of it and flash it. Idk

Nope can’t download it manually until this gets updated.

Update 2. I got it to install whoo hoo..

See:

Summary: root needs to be disabled, uninstall root, then update, reinstall root, then change root to alternate slot, and reboot. I’m using apatch but magisk is the same.

Hello,

I am a little bit disappointed by this update.

With these first feedbacks, it’s seems to be not good…

I think there are a really big problem with QA at Fairphone…

Some of these problems is really simple to reproduce…

Still affected by the refresh rate drop on unlock & has not been fixed by the update.

So this update took way to long to come out and fixed nothing that needed to be fixed asap

Talk about a useless update how about you reset the display driver code to the default and not use your display driver tweaks

Heck even videos on youtube or any other app still freeze for a sec wen you rotate the phone 90°

So what has this update really done???

Im thinking of just sending the phone back this is just pure

Can’t find the update in my settings. Fingers crossed that there will be a fix for the camera zoom soon!

Just realized: The “Increase touch sensitivity” setting was removed with this update.

I really hope they get these problems under control very soon. Currently, the device isn’t fun to use and isn’t worthy of a €600 device. I’d like to give Fairphone a chance because the hardware and concept are actually great, but the software is unusable for me so far. The fact that it’s dependent on the provider when, or even if, you get updates is also unacceptable. If the software doesn’t improve soon, I’ll return or sell the device.

I really hope the Fairphone team is reading this and is working hard to solve the problems as soon as possible.

We see that for some of you the refresh rate issue was resolved - nice to hear! We are aware that some are still reporting the issue. Rest assured that we’re still working on resolving this when caused by other factors. Expect the rest to be resolved soon!

Really? the refresh rate issue is there for everyone in this thread? It continue to be there for me as well.

How are you testing, you guys need to take another look at this.

Ok you are rooted, such info is always helpful …

Still nothing here (France, Orange SIM).

Where did you see that? I only see comments here and in the dedicated topic that its not fixed

Still no update here in Belgium (Proximus sim)

For a blatant bug affecting all lots of users that’s not really ideal?

How are we meant to trust the FP team to support this OS for years to come if a widespread and extremely frustrating display bug can’t get fixed within a couple of months. Especially after a new release when there’s more attention on the product?

There are still Fairphones 3 in use. This could be taken as an good sign, that the Fairphone 6 will be supported for a long time.
Anyway, I am unhappy about the situation and the not working Update/fixes too. It is anoying and has to be patched! And fast!

Today I did the update and I noticed that the camera is not taking proper pictures. there’s a problem with the focus — the image is blurry. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Before the update, the camera quality was relatively good

yeah let me add some more this update is just a security update there is not a single fix in this update all it does is update the security patch and on top of that the phone feels even worse now

random menu’s slow down’s

refresh rate dropping on unlock is still there

it seems that fairphone QA team or the devs have done 0 testing with this

and to make it even worse WHY IS IT TAKING FOR EVER TO UPDATE!

like for real 55mb update takers over 10-15 min to install… on my old oneplus 5 that is running lineageos i get an update ever 1-2 weeks thats 700mb+ download it press to install it phone reboots and not even 3 mins have passed and its done… how in the hell do screw up this bad

what in the hell are the devs doing are the devs even on the forums as i doubt there here its just support staff

The forum is a user forum with FP staff showing up very rarely and thats communicated very clearly. And as a preventive comment: this is off-topic here.
