That’s what it’s supposed to fix. I’m installing it now. People who tried the beta confirmed it works.

Yeah me to installing as we speak!

Amazing, I just got the update without changing my SIM card or erasing the phone (french provider SFR had blocked the previous update)

No Update for me yet.

Got the update right on time, and the update went smoothly.

Can confirm the display refresh rate feels so much better after unlocking now.

Edit:

Spoke too soon, sometimes the home screen after unlocking is sluggish, and stays that way until I lock it again and unlock it. :frowning:

Update went through fine.

The first thing I tried was the camera, as I’m really waiting for improvements in this area to fix major bugs. I have mixed things to report.

  • recording video in 1080p with video HDR enabled still looks abysmal. Extreme edge sharpening artifacts and soft edges at the same time that make everything look very, very, very bad and are even worse when enabling standard stabilization. It’s unusable. In 4k it works fine with and without HDR and/or stabilization and looks good but of course uses much more space. (which is why I want to use 1080p as a default) This wasn’t mentioned as fixed but it’s still a major issue. Video in 1080p records fine using GCAM (but that suffers from the next bug…)
  • Audio recording when taking video is a mixed bag. It seems it’s not become any worse with the standard camera software, more testing is needed. However, it still doesn’t work with some 3rd party apps like gcam ports or blackmagic camera - the volume levels are so low there, they are unusable. Using Opencamera I at least have several microphone settings and one of them works now, which is an improvement.

I’m glad to see there’s active development going on and I really hope the very annoying remaining camera quirks will be addressed in future updates.

I’m still seeing some frame rate problems. The worst case is in Roon Arc which seems to run some screens at very low FPS. I’ve verified that the app is smooth on my Pixel 6a.

EDIT: Actually looks like I’m also still seeing the refresh rate/FPS drop after unlock problem.

Just had an instance where the frame rate was low again. So it’s not totally fixed.

Unfortunately, the update is a bit disappointing for me. The screen still occasionally stutters after unlocking. The automatic brightness also jumps up and down in dark environments. I haven’t found any improvements to the user interface so far, and unfortunately, there are still a few bugs. For example, when you pull down the status bar, the bottom edge of the media player isn’t displayed correctly. You have to swipe up a bit to display it correctly. Unfortunately, the 4x6 grid for the home screen is still missing. I still have to test the camera to see if the update has made any difference.

Installed the update through my O2 SIM, as Vodafone DE (of course?) doesn’t offer the update yet.

Still, my biggest issue - bad sound quality when recording videos with the stock camera app…still here! :slightly_frowning_face:

I’m beginning to wonder if this is a hardware issue with the microphones in my case and not (only) a software issue.

No rollout on Telekom Germany right now. Thanks for the last replies, at least I don’t feel that bad that I didn’t got the update yet.

Installed it, still experiencing the same issues as before☹️. Something go wrong with the update files or is it more a hardware problem?

What are the same issues?

Just be patient. Last time it took 4 days IIRC.

Yeah, I try to. But the refresh rate issue is really annoying and I’m affected from another confirmed software bug regarding the screen that isn’t discussed in the community forum. That makes it really hard to be patient, especially when some people already got a bugfix… Additionally, I don’t remember such delays with the Fairphone 4 and Telekom Germany in the past (aside from the last 2 releases, which were delayed by weeks).

:warning: The page https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/24463713641234-The-Fairphone-Gen-6-Release-Notes mentions that the current version is 15.105 instead of 15.122 but the release date is correct
