I got it, too. The same day my wife got it for her Samsung. Not too bad, then…

Update went quick and smooth for me.

Black screen is black now, let’s see if that will be noticable at the battery drainage

Power on with fingerprint sensor didn`t work anymore, even if the setting is switched on:

Phone Unlock using fingerprint is not working, but fingerprint to open app is working.

Yes, same here. It’s great that updates roll out faster, but quality control is still a thing. I thought we had beta testers? Didn’t they notice this?

This is a major bummer!

Works for me as before and I’m a beta tester

Edit is this still enabled for you?

Yes:

Also enabled for me. And when I open the registered fingerprints, they light up when I scan a finger. So they are still there. And as mentioned apps still unlock as well. But for some reason the lock screen doesn’t do this trick anymore.

Did you see my screenshot? Yes, it is enabled…

Can confirm this description. This is really annoying.

Had the same issue with fingerprint/face unlock, so entered this forum and can see i’m not the only one…

Same Problem here! Did thes really broke that now?:face_exhaling:

I saw your screenshot and I asked you about a different setting (see my screenshot). However others confirmed that its still enabled, so that seem to be not the root cause

Found the “fix”. Go to your “Security & privacy” settings and find “More security & privacy” → “Device admin apps”, there, if you have “Find My Device”, disable that. I guess there is some sort of conflict with the Remote Lock feature?

When “Find My Device” is disabled the fingerprint unlock works again. It’s not great, but at least you can unlock again with ease.

I’ll report it to Fairphone support later this evening. Feel free to do the same, then the faster it will be on their radar.

Thanks! “Find my device” is such a basic feature, why are “beta-testers” does not use this???

Awesome, huge thanks!

I tried everything I could think of, and I don’t know how many times I restarted, but yes: disallowing “Find my device” from being a device admin app worked!

This resolved issue:

An issue that was causing the display to glow when the screen was black

Could that mean we will get the Always on Display feature back? Or is it unrelated? Because when the screen doesn’t go fully off, I can imagine the AoD feature drained power.
