Also enabled for me. And when I open the registered fingerprints, they light up when I scan a finger. So they are still there. And as mentioned apps still unlock as well. But for some reason the lock screen doesn’t do this trick anymore.
I saw your screenshot and I asked you about a different setting (see my screenshot). However others confirmed that its still enabled, so that seem to be not the root cause
Found the “fix”. Go to your “Security & privacy” settings and find “More security & privacy” → “Device admin apps”, there, if you have “Find My Device”, disable that. I guess there is some sort of conflict with the Remote Lock feature?
When “Find My Device” is disabled the fingerprint unlock works again. It’s not great, but at least you can unlock again with ease.
I’ll report it to Fairphone support later this evening. Feel free to do the same, then the faster it will be on their radar.
I tried everything I could think of, and I don’t know how many times I restarted, but yes: disallowing “Find my device” from being a device admin app worked!
An issue that was causing the display to glow when the screen was black
Could that mean we will get the Always on Display feature back? Or is it unrelated? Because when the screen doesn’t go fully off, I can imagine the AoD feature drained power.
