I’m neither using Fairphone OS nor the fingerprint sensor, and I’m on Android 13.
You could still consider installing an alternative OS to keep the fingerprint sensor working like before to be more future-proof (and to have a more secure device for the sake of everybody on the internet).
Fairphone support this basically by keeping the phone open to install alternative OSes (not every phone vendor does so).
