Hi everyone,
A new software update based on Android 13 is now available to Fairphone 3 users.
FP3 A.13 MR10
Other improvements
Installed it today. Didn’t notice anything different (except for the security date), so is working just fine
Updated with no problems so far.

Since the update I have frequent random reboots… I use my phone with a Test DPC to separate work and personal data.
Seems to be a non correlated coincidence with my battery having failed. I switched to the one of my other fp3 and had no reboots since 24 h.
I am in Belgium, and we are still on version 6.A.031.2 with security update from October 5, 2024.
Can you push the latest update to us as well?
Thanks
It has been established here that mobile network providers play a role in this process as they reserve the right to check updates themselves for compatibility before they allow them to be rolled out onto devices on their networks. Belgian provider Proximus for instance got some attention in this regard lately … Search results for 'proximus order:latest' - Fairphone Community Forum
What’s your provider?
thank you! My provider is indeed Proximus.
Is there any workaround to force downloading the updates?
You can try to use a different SIM card of a provider not blocking the update. But that might lead to problems if your provider is not just lazy but holding back the update on purpose, because it has issues.
My provider is KPN-NL and my FP3+ is also stuck on version 6.A.031.2 from October 2024.
So the issue is not on Proximus alone…
Again, as last year around this time, I have got the same problem as Jan5 (my provider/carrier is Simyo). I had to force updating to the november update through flashing with Fastboot because forcing it with OTA Sideload does not work when I try it. Now, I also don’t get the February update. I don’t want to force updates every two months through flashing with Fastboot because then you have to reinstall or reconfigure a lot of things, even if you have made a backup. Have you sent a mail to Fairphone about this, Jan5?
Why blame Fairphone and not your provider? There is no forcing to a FP5, most FP3 owners already got the update.
You are right: there is no force from Fairphone (I have edited my post already). But they don’t communicate clearly where the problem is, and when I asked my provider last year they said that they are not the problem. So it can be either the provider or Fairphone. And even if most FP3 owners got the update: that doesn’t justify letting a few wait for months.
I still believe it’s more on the side of the providers, as it doesn’t make any sense for Fairphone to have black lists of providers they don’t roll out the updates to.
Hi,
The update should now be available for KPN, Proximus and Sky.
Some operators are asking for Fairphone to defer rolling out updates until the approval from the operator is done.
So technically it is us who is blocking devices from those operators from receiving the update, but as per the previous sentence, we’re following the request from operators there.
Thanks lucaweis, I just got the 6.A.031.7 update tonight on my FP3+. Installed it and it works perfectly.
The 6.A.031.7 update (January) is now also available for me (for Simyo). Thanks!
Thanks also for this explanation and quick reaction on my post! Thanks for all the work that you are doing to give FP3 a long secured life!
