Smartwatches available for FP5?

Which smartwatches are compatible with fp5?

Hi,

I think eveyrone who need connection with Bluetooth. Check on internet if you need 1 smartwatch in particular.

Most of them. It runs Android. I’ve an FP4 and I’ve used it with the Fitbit Charge 4, Versa 2 and Charge 6 with no issues. There’s a WhatsApp/Fitbit bug where WhatsApp doesn’t push notifications for WhatsApp calls, only for Chat texts, but this isn’t the fault of Fairphone. Otherwise it’s been fine and I’ve it set to mirror the phone so any notifications I get (apart from WhatsApp calls) come up straight away on my Fitbit from mulitple sources - Outlook, banking apps, SMS, calls etc.

A little off topic: Any chance, you have any experience with using “Gadgetbridge”?

I’m looking for a smartwatch which has as many features as possible and being as much as possible supported by the app " Gadgetbridge".

I don’t unfortunately, but their website lists the Amazfit Active 2 as highly supported and it’s getting a lot of positive [reviews]

I’ve been using Gadgetbridge with my Mi Band 7 on Fairphone 4 (not 5) for over two years now. at first it’s been a bit of a rocky road, with some features not being properly implemented, but with each update of the app the feature parity kept improving. the support and features available do vary depending on the model of the watch, though.

Hi,

I’ve been using my amazfit GTR 2e with gadgetbridge for a while.
I also have a smartring ( Colmi R9) with gadgetbridge.
Previously, I had a Honor magic watch, xiaomi smartband with no problem.
The main advantage of gadgetbridge is that you own your datas !

I have an FP3+, it works fine with a (old) Samsung Galaxy Watch (1) and the matching Samsung App. The only missing function is: wake up alerts on the Watch are not available on the Phone (but work on the watch).

Do you use it with the Fitbit app? After the Google acquisition it seems you needed to transition to a Google account, and I keep getting an error (“Something went wrong”) when I try to log in through Google (I can’t log in with my old Fitbit credentials). Might it be that you need to have Google Play as well? I don’t want to do that as I’m de-Googling as much as possible. Is there a work-around? Watch syncs fine with my old “Googled” phone.

Yeah I had a Fitbit account and then just deleted it and set up a new one with my personal non-Google mail address as my Google account. I think when setting up my Google account it gave me an option to do this, but it’s been a few years so I can’t remember exactly, but I log into Google with my non-Google mail, and don’t have Gmail or anything else.
