Hi my phone takes all day to charge, I have to put the cord at an angle within the port otherwise it won’t charge at all, I’ve tried all kinds of techniques as it’s happened before and I’m waiting for response from support.
I already got a new battery and charger plug and cord a while back, as well as new charger port module a couple of years ago, do I need another?
I think it’s the phone as it’s the same no matter what charger or portable charger I use
Thanks for any help
I would suspect either the USB port is full of dirt (you could try to carefully clean it with something thin and spiky), or it’s almost broken due to the strain of operation (it happens).
If any of this turns out to be the case, then you could consider using magnetic USB adapters in the future, which prevent both issues. The forum search has more on this.
I had that problem a couple of years ago, and after carefully cleaning the USB-C port with isopropyl alcohol I managed to solve it. I describe it here:
I haven’t had any problems with charging since then, but it’s true that I bought a silicone protector for the port (something like this), and I think that helps to keep it from getting dusty or wet, and from getting damaged.
Good luck!
Hi Ellie,
we had a similar problem: The phone would only charge when pressing the cable/connector up or down, probably because the connection were a dirty an/or worn out.
We finally replaced the bottom module to fix the problem.
Nevertheless the phone is very “picky” on which cable an which charger to use to make it charge fast.
