Using a Fairphone 4, which I’ve just converted into away from my Lineage-flashed Pixel. Slack worked fine there for audio, but on the FP4 the other participants sound like they’re on helium, and there are also some audio artifacts that seem to indicate lost packets or out of sync decoding.
I have tried changing to “mono” mode (hints I found from looking at other posts that complained about Skype and Microsoft Teams audio having the same problems) but no luck. I see several threads starting/closing on this topic, but there doesn’t seem to be a clear solution. I get the same bad audio quality on bluetooth headsets as I do on the speaker or on the earpiece of the device.
This is a deal-breaker for me. My team uses Slack for all communications (not something we’re going to change; please do not suggest it) and audio needs to be functional. I was really hoping to move to the FairPhone (despite its absurdly large size) but this may kill that plan.
Note: my audio from the FP4 sounds fine. It’s just playback audio that is broken. Other apps such as Signal and Zoom work with no difficulties.
