2 days in after the switch from IOS to Android Fairphone, and I’ve noticed that my sim card becomes unavailable every time I put the phone in charge! This is rather annoying and counter-intuitive: I cannot be contacted when the phone is charging… Surely this is not right?

Sorry to hear that you should have to face this problem from the beginning. As you suspect, this behaviour is definitely not right. I can see that you’ve found an old thread where two other FP owners have reported the same - sadly without any information if/how their problem was solved. But it’s highly uncommon. I suggest (as Joe did in the other thread) that you contact FP support.
