I just got my new fairphone and the mobile internet won’t turn on.
WiFi works fine, and all phone calls are working fine too.

What exactly means ‘I can’t turn on Internet’? What are you doing? What happens?
I guess the mobile data isn’t working, right Mark?
Fairphone has a tool to try and find out what’s wrong. Start at https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001041206
Assuming it’s a problem with your network operator, this is what the tool displays at the end:
