My 2021 Fairphone 3+ had a sudden death and would cost too much to repair. The motherboard failed but the other parts had no issues so I want to sell it for parts. I’m located in Belgium.
My question: is there still any sensitive personal information left in the memory of the phone even when the SIMcard is removed? I can’t reset the phone because it can’t be turned on.
All your personal information is stored on the phone, not on the SIM card. So if you want to be absolutely safe, just sell the parts, not the mainboard.
With a Torx T5 screwdriver, you can also separate the motherboard from the Rear Module which is a part people might really need and appreciate – because they cannot directly buy it otherwise.
If, for any reason, Pierot ends up not needing your Back Camera Module, I will happy to buy it from you. Mine just broke recently and I would be glad to replace it.
