Every once in a while, the screen (while I’m actively using the phone to chat, browse the Web or whatever) goes completely black when a notification of any kind pops up. The notification is visible like normal at the top of the screen, but everything else goes black. Touch control is still possible and passes through the black “cover”, as evidenced by the gibberish I accidentally typed trying to get rid of the blackness. After the notification slides back up off the screen or is manually dismissed, the graphics return to normal. This behaviour seems to start randomly and to be only temporarily fixed by rebooting.

I got the same problem, ever since the Android 12 update. Apparently this was something Pixel phones had right after their Android 12 update, too.
It got fixed a few months later, so here’s to hoping well get an update fixing it, too. Because right now this just makes me want the old notification ticker from really old android versions even more.

I think it doesn’t occur anymore after the Android 13 update.
