I may have come late to a previous discussion about this, but I am frustrated by seeing the response “can’t reply to this short code” in the Messages App on my FP4. I understand that it’s about allowing access to premium rate services, but I can’t find how to control such access. Is there a simple answer?
Its like a no-reply email address but with telephone numbers.
If you would reply to that it would go to nowhere so when Google messages see that it’s a short code sending number it just blocks you from accidentally writing to it.
I understand that with regard to direct replies to short numbers codes. However, I am referring to requests for a reply which provide a link on which to click to provide the reply. For example, British Telecom giving a link and then asking in the link to reply “FAULT” or something similar, but when trying to do this a “not sent” message appears, with the only options then are to delete the reply or to resend (with the same outcome).
I have the same issue (FP5) with messages from the NHS saying something like reply with “1” if you were satisfied with the service. The reply never gets sent.
