Regularly booting into TWRP

I’ve been using a refurbished FP2 for a few months now, and for the past three weeks or so, every time it power cycles (whether I let battery run down, insert new SIM, or reboot in an attempt to resolve display quirks), it boots into the Team Win Recovery Project bootloader rather than FairPhone OS. I’ve tried the various reboot options (system, bootloader, can’t remember the other two) from within TWRP & get the message Unable to find partition for path ‘/system’. in red a couple of times as it’s going through the reboot processm, with TWRP loaded again on boot. If I remove the battery and give it a few hours ‘rest’, then it seems to boot into FairPhone OS again thereafter.

Anyone else seen similar behaviour?
