Recording sounds / music to use as ring tones

So I want to record a sound to replace the timer ringtone. Does anyone know how I:

  1. record a sound
  2. save it as the timer ringtone

thanks

Settings > Sounds > Advanced

Edited to correct direction to Phone ringtone
See post below . . .

In this case it’s

Settings > Sounds > Advanced > Standard alarm sound > +Add alarm

The included Sound Recorder app works just fine for that usecase.

Instead of adding it in the settings, you can also copy the recording from /sdcard/Music/SoundRecord to /sdcard/Alarms, /sdcard/Notifications or /sdcard/Ringtones (depending on what you want to use it for). That will give you the same result.

The options are the same, I thought that “timer ringtone” meant the timer alarm sound , not phone call ringtone.
