But out of curiosity:
I testet the app (Playstore v.20.1 and F-Droid version v.20.2), with both I can’t get audio/video working, neither in peer to peer mode, nor in a 2+ constellation, the bug tracker of the jitsi meet android app is full of problems, mostly with android 8+ all android devices (Samsung Galaxy Tab Android 7, FP3)
EDIT: Seems my Fritz!Box is blocking the traffic of the app. In 4G Network everything works flawless! 
EDIT 2: No No, Mr. stupid me, it was the browser 
at home I use Arch Linux with Vivaldi, it uses Chromium 80, with Chromium standalone (v.81) its working
