Hi everyone,
I just sent my Fairphone 3 for repairs as the power button was stuck and it would randomly reboot and get stuck in a rebooting loop. Today I received a quote saying that nothing is wrong with my phone, it is fully functional, and I need to pay to get it back.
Unless somehow the rear module decided to work again, I suspect that they only turned it on for a few minutes which is not always enough for it to misbehave. I am angry because it is out of warranty and I have to pay to get it back without its repairs.
What are my options here? I was thinking of paying the 40€ and then contact support again if it is not fixed (which it won’t be), but will those 40€ be deducted from the next bill because they haven’t been able to diagnose the problem properly?
This is just the community forum. Maybe ask the support directly.
Edit:
If you have to pay you could try to insist on repairing if it happens again. You could record a video for documentation. But I don’t know the legal situation.
Why didn’t you buy a used power button in the forum. It could be faster and cheaper.
I know support would be the best to answer this but they are incredibly difficult to reach so I thought I would ask the community first. I was not sure what the issue was so I was hoping to get a proper diagnosis before ordering phone parts from the black market :'D My plan will probably be to repair the rear module myself at this stage after ordering it from someone on the forum, I just really did not expect this to happen and was wondering if there was any proper solution.
