Please open source fairbuds app

I have a fairphone with e/os which I’m very happy with. I’m currently looking for some earbuds and would love to get the fairbuds. However, I don’t want to have to put a closed source app on my phone to make them work, and I dislike closed source software in general. Fairphone has an excellent history of respecting user privacy and the app appears to be tracker free at present Report for com.fairphone.android.fairbudsapp 2.1 - εxodus but being closed source still means that fairphone has exclusive control over the software and, as they themselves say in their page on open source, " If you can’t open it, you don’t own it." Open Source and Fairphone, what we believe in - Fairphone .

Given this please consider open sourcing the fairbuds app. you will have at least one happy customer.

Yes!
Possibly Fairphone has some of the code made by some third party, so they doesn’t own the code do 100%. If so they should atlest release their own code under a public license.

I hope that too, but fairphone don’t seems to be actually very interested in FOSS development.
