PLEASE - FP TEAM - RELEASE: QUADLOCK Covers. ‼️ 🫠

Many time I was very unhappy to see, there is no slick solution for a Quadlock Mount, or SP Connect etc. Those are VERY common on a motor cycle, bicyle, car, boat, navigation, Rucksack, even on skydivers helmets (for Gopro). It is VERY robust, perfect for outdoor usage, Content creators etc.

So please Fairphone Team get those mounts to your Fairphone covers. :folded_hands:
All active users of Fairphone will appreciate it. AND IF a phone needs a new display, it can be repaired, that is what fairphone stands for.

Did YOU ever miss a quadlock on your Fairphone “x” :red_question_mark:

This no shout, it is a text HIGHLIGHTING… see the difference?

When you are texting someone, drawing extra attention to words is simple: you simply capitalize all the letters. Of course, that also means that you are shouting. In fiction writing though, writing words with all capital letters isn’t considered to be professional, and for some readers, it can be distracting. For me, it is especially distracting when the words are in all caps because the character is shouting and their shouting spree ends with multiple exclamation points.

So just accept that this is not how we in this community communicate, however you want to name it, because it can be interpreted as shouting. Thanks

ok, you understand it as SHOUTING (what stand that for? => !!! :double_exclamation_mark::double_exclamation_mark:) … you know what, delete my account… - I tried to develop ideas for fairphone… have no time for such time killer.

All caps - Wikipedia

“Short strings of words in capital letters appear bolder and ‘louder’ than mixed case, and this is sometimes referred to as ‘screaming’ or ‘shouting’.” […] “Studies have been conducted on the readability and legibility of all caps text. Scientific testing from the 20th century onward has generally indicated that all caps text is less legible and readable than lower-case text.[2][3] In addition, switching to all caps may make text appear hectoring and obnoxious for cultural reasons, since all-capitals is often used in transcribed speech to indicate that the speaker is shouting.”

And I don’t want to ignore our Google search AI Overlordview with this actually very useful summary it gave me (including the highlighting) …

"AI Overview

Using all caps on the internet is generally considered rude and is often interpreted as shouting. It’s best to avoid using all caps for emphasis or highlighting, and instead use proper capitalization and punctuation.

Why it’s considered shouting:

  • Established convention:

Using all caps has become a widely recognized convention for conveying shouting or yelling in online communication.

  • Visual perception:

All caps can be harder to read and visually overwhelming, making it feel like someone is raising their voice.

  • Lack of nuance:

It can be difficult to convey complex emotions or intentions with all caps, making it seem like you’re simply yelling without any specific reason.

Alternatives to using all caps:

  • Proper capitalization:

Use sentence capitalization (starting sentences with a capital letter and using lowercase for the rest) for clarity and professionalism.

  • Emphasis with italics or bolding:

Use italics or bolding to highlight key words or phrases, but use these sparingly as well.

  • Exclamation points:

Use exclamation points to indicate excitement or emphasis, but avoid overuse as it can also be perceived as shouting.

  • Clear and concise language:

Choose your words carefully and express your ideas clearly and concisely.

In essence, while all caps might be tempting to use for emphasis, it’s generally best to stick to established conventions of online communication and use alternative methods for highlighting or expressing emotion.

Thx for bombing this Topic about QUADLOCK to a complete mess.

Use your brain, not AI
“Short strings of words in capital letters appear bolder and ‘louder’ than mixed case, and this is sometimes referred to as ‘screaming’ or ‘shouting’.”
Who defines that? What are exclamation marks for?

Now fondle your unicorns, elks,… or what so ever…
I am out of this madness.

bye fairphone…

Holy C R A P , is it still NOT POSSIBLE to delete my own account… ?

I am kindly and very small typing asking for redemption from this sect
Pls delete me.

What an interesting discussion

Personally I prefer Magsafe over Quadlock but having options is always a plus for users.

OT:
About AI: it is a summary of what you can find online about it, which could be considered as “common sense”. If I take that information and apply it to my experience, then yea, most people I know consider this shouting. But even if you don’t, it’s the netiquette of this community, so everyone should adhere to it imo!

While I understand your frustration about the “backlash” (I had my fair share too), I hope you see why this is slightly inappropriate. It also pushes your thread in the spotlight compared to other Threads, which is not fair imo.

I also understand that you want to promote the Idea. But you have to admit, wordings like “All active users of Fairphone will appreciate it.” make you sound like a snake oil salesman. It harms YOUR cause.
