Owning a fairphone outside of Europe/North America

Dear Community,
I’d like to buy a fairphone but I live in South Asia and only come to Europe approx. every two years. Is this a bad idea? I only need basic functions and am not crazy about latest hardware updates.
Thanks

You could check for which frequencies are in use in your country and which frequencies are in use by possible providers.

The FP5 can use:

  • 4G B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/20/28/32/38/40/41/42/48/66/71
  • 5G n1/2/3/5/7/8/20/28/38/41/48/66/71/77/78

A solid seller is https://www.reichelt.de . They ship to several countries but watch out for the cost of P&P and if you have to pay import duty.

Welcome to the community forum.

Depends on what your plan is to possibly get parts or a battery if needed, or any form of support. Do you have some proxy in Europe? Or would Taiwan be an option?

Please see https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/17121765976849-Shipping-Costs … section “Authorized resellers”, and please mind the disclaimer regarding warranties and sales conditions as well as further considerations given there.
