Hi all,
I’ve made a support request for my FP5 that has Murena OS but no Android 14. After two updates it is still Android 13.
I have to trade it in due to power button issues so I am hoping the replacement will not have this issue, but I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and how they’ve solved it.
I have had no reply even though I have submitted this request over a month ago… so here I am asking you all.
As far as I can see, there is no newer official version of e/OS/ than those based on Android 13:

Ah that explains a lot! They don’t really specify about e/OS/ and android on the shop website, but they do list android 14. Thank you for your reply!
e/OS/ is maintained by Murena, not Fairphone, they just have a cooperation now, so you can buy the FP5 with e/OS/ in the Fairphone shop too,
It might still take a little while until the official version of /e/OS on Murena Fairphone 5 will reach Android 14.
There are two versions of Murena’s /e/OS – official and community – and major Android upgrades are only delivered OTA (i.e. via Settings > System Update) for users on official (that is you as you bought your FP5 with /e/OS pre-installed) . Users on the community version need to install these major upgrades manually. While this is a bit more hassle, it also means they are getting them earlier. In this case, community is already on Android 14. However, you are not missing out on security updates and other fixes and improvements coming with your current updates. You can follow the general status of /e/OS here: Week 15, 2025: Development and Testing Updates - Development Updates - /e/OS community – “To Be Planned” is the current state of things for your device.
Before I forget to mention it: If you get a replacement device, it will most likely be on the same state as your current FP5 as it will still come with /e/OS official.
