New charger for the UK?

Hello,

I notice Fairphone’s two new chargers (30W and 65W) are only available with a mainland European plug. Is there plans to release a version with a UK plug? I’m most interested in the 65W one.

Thanks

As users here, we can only speculate. My own guess: it will not work out economically for Fairphone right now – although I guess once the existing “old” UK charger has sold out, one of the two new chargers will be made available with a UK plug.

I would recommend though you let the company know of your interest via support.fairphone.com

New chargers differ in the materials used, longer warranty and certifications. I would assume it took a bit of preparation to release those.

There is some tentative data about successful sales which might be an argument to go through a similar process for UK market. But it’s only a speculation. Perhaps the US charger will be first here.

I have purchased a UK one not really double checking all the info and it is pretty solid if you need one now.

There is a workaround if you happen to have a travel plug adapter..

I was wondering about buying one of the newer EU plug only (for now) chargers a while ago to use with an adaptor in the UK, but ended up ordering the UK one using the 20% off and some Keep Club points. I received it this morning and it is already proving far more effective at charging various FP models than the old Motorola and Samsung chargers I was using.
